About Julianne Dell
Julianne is currently the Morning Edition and Noon anchor for WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina.
Previously, Julianne was a reporter for NBC-2 and ABC-7 in Fort Myers, Florida. She also filled in on the anchor desk for both sports and news.
Before moving to SWFL, Julianne was the anchor and producer of Montana This Morning on KRTV in Great Falls & KXLH in Helena, Montana. She was also a sideline reporter for ESPN Montana.
Julianne graduated magna cum laude from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University, where she earned a Master of Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a Sports Communications Emphasis in 2014. While completing her graduate studies, she was awarded one of only several Instructional Associate positions. She was responsible for training undergraduates on the proper use of cameras and editing software. She also taught all technical positions in the newsroom, providing feedback on content as well as technical support.
While at Syracuse, Julianne had many amazing sports coverage opportunities, including covering the number one Orange men's basketball team as they broke a school record with 25 consecutive wins to start their season. She also covered the Triple-A International League Champions - the Syracuse Chiefs (Triple-A Affiliate of the Washington Nationals). Julianne had the unique opportunity of serving as the On-Field Reporter for the Chiefs, interviewing players on the field post-game and in the clubhouse.
In the summer of 2014, Julianne served as the Washington, D.C. sports correspondent for WSYR, covering the Washington Nationals at home and select road games with a field producer. She also covered the Triple-A All-Star game in Durham, North Carolina. In September, Julianne's Twitter handle was recognized by Sporting News as a "Must-Follow" for the 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason.
Prior to Syracuse, Julianne attended Wake Forest University where she was a four-year varsity cheerleader, cheering for the nationally-ranked football and basketball teams. Julianne majored in Communications. She had professional work experience reporting for Wake-TV and ESPNU. She also interned for the Winston-Salem Dash, the Advanced-A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox during the entirety of their 2010 season. She even got to cover the big league team when they visited Winston-Salem for an exhibition game.
Julianne grew up in Westford, Massachusetts. With a knack for writing and a passion for sports, Julianne's first foray into sports journalism came at the beginning of her senior year in high school. Her guidance counselor recommended her for a position writing for Rise/School Sport Magazine, a regional ESPN publication about high school athletics. Julianne was the first-ever student to cover the Westford Academy Grey Ghosts. She gained experience interviewing players and the school athletic director. Julianne was also given the senior superlative of "Most School Spirit" because she never missed a game.
Julianne is a sports fanatic who also enjoys reading, traveling, and listening to country music. Julianne is an internationally-published journalist in both English and French. She possesses a profound affinity for animals, especially dogs.
